Jr. Excavation Estimator

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare cost estimates of material, disposal material, labor, and equipment
  • Liaise with Clients, Consulting Engineers, General Contractors, and  Suppliers
  • Coordinate and attend field visits and pre-tender meetings
  • Manage the estimating process, including quantity take-offs, cost of labour, equipment, and materials, and tender preparation
  • Other administrative duties as required 

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Solid understanding of drawings and technical specifications
  • Knowledge of various contract arrangements (e.g., lump sum, unit price, cost ), and document packages (CCDC)
  • Experience in earth moving and excavation or related industry
  • Able to complete tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision; self-starter
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in determining and/or acquiring job bids quickly and accurately
  • Post Secondary Education in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in Estimating

Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide Management with data and project analysis.
  • Track productivity, costs, and progress on projects.
  • Perform quantity take-off from construction drawings as required.
  • Monitor progress and assist in the provision of job cost reports to management on active projects.
  • Provide data and input for month-end reconciliation.
  • Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects.
  • Assist in the preparation, review, maintenance and approval of Engineering drawings and related documents.
  • Gather field information and assist in the preparation of project bill of materials.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed construction and design estimates.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Other administrative duties as required.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel to site locations will be required.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Recent College Graduate – Civil / Construction Technologist / Technician.
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project.
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with others as a team
  • Minimum 2 years experience

Site Supervisor

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assists in monitoring daily job site activities and compiling site reports
  • Assists in inspecting project progress in quality control to ensure the highest standard is delivered
  • Assists in daily Health and Safety inspection to ensure a safe work site
  • Assists in coordinating with sub-contractors to ensure adherence to schedule, plans and specification
  • Assists in housekeeping
